About

The Ministry of Information and Orientation in Sokoto State was established to serve as a channel for disseminating accurate and timely information to the public on government policies, programs, and activities.

  • Responsibilities

    The ministry has several responsibilities, including enlightening the public on various aspects of government policies, programs, and activities to promote understanding and support. Additionally, the ministry aims to manage and project a positive image of the state government and its activities, as well as build and maintain a cordial relationship with the media to ensure fair and accurate coverage of government programs.

  • Educating The Masses

    The ministry is also responsible for educating the public on important issues such as health, education, agriculture, social welfare, and more. Furthermore, the ministry has a Research and Documentation unit that conducts research and documents important information on the state's history, culture, and development, in addition to managing public affairs and maintaining a positive relationship between the government and the public.

  • Mobilization and Orientation

    The Mobilization and Orientation Department of the ministry aims to consistently raise awareness, provide timely and credible feedback, positively change attitudes, values, and behaviors, accurately and adequately inform, and sufficiently mobilize citizens to act in ways that promote peace and harmony. The department is also responsible for organizing events and activities to promote community involvement and promoting a culture of inclusion and diversity.
